Chartered on February 1, 1914, the Memphis Rotary Club was the 96^th club in Rotary International.  Over the past 35 years, the club has maintained a service focus on the Memphis City Schools and has given over $2 million for education-related projects and well over 50,000 volunteer hours.  However, 2007-2008 was a pivotal year for the club, choosing to diversify its project efforts into a variety of service areas within the local community.  The club is concentrating its international efforts through partnering with Stop Hunger Now to package meals for international hunger relief and will be working through Clean Water U to install clean water systems in a developing country as well.
